Last weekend we drove out to Banff. It's about an hour north of us. Beautiful drive but you could really say that about anywhere here. You could drive to Costco and have a beautiful drive. It's really like nothing I have ever seen. Coming from CA and UT you drive somewhere and there are stores and houses everywhere. You may have some pretty things here and there but you have to go far to have beautiful scenery. NOT here...it is just everywhere and it's breath-taking!
There is a Historic House there called Duff House. There is some history behind it but I'm too lazy to go and find out what it is so I'll just say that it's a 3 story beautiful home that has a TON of artwork in it. I'd love to live in a house like that. There is a gift shop inside as well as a Tea house. We had some lunch there. One thing I can say is that the kids are getting used to eating healthier foods when we go places. You can't just pop into a drive through here and get Wendy's or Burger king. The Tea House's have sandwiches and soups, some crisps and pastries. They all eat egg salad and tuna "mayo" sandwiches now. I can say that is a nice thing. I DO miss the drive throughs though. What I would give for an In N Out burger right now. The best they can do here is a Whopper at Burger King.
There was a cool path to follow from Duff house so we took a hike and they also had a nice playground for the kids to play at. It was a really nice day.

I haven't been to the Duff House yet. I agree with you, it doesn't matter what direction you drive in Scotland - it is beautiful any direction!
Duff house, is that where they make Duff beer?
