So my last post was about the snow....so disappointed that it snowed so much this winter. We were really hoping for a mild winter....that's what we heard.
Turns out that this is the worst winter the UK has had in about 30 years or so. GO figure! I think the winter from Utah followed us over.
The bad part about the whole thing is that this country is not equipped for the amount of snow we got. People don't have shovels, they don't sell ice melt here. The shelves at the grocery stores are actually sold out of table salt because people buy it for their walks and driveways. People are actually advised to NOT shovel their walks, etc because if someone slips on the ice then you can be sued for it. So now that the soft, pretty ice is gone from our driveway and walk it is now covered with ice. That's not safe by any means.
Thankfully the weather has warmed up just a bit so you can actually see some of the driveway now. I try and go out as much as possible and shovel what will come up. We are getting a bit of rain today so I am hoping it makes more of the ice/snow go away.
There were about 37 schools closed last Tuesday when school started again. To me that is just crazy. Some of the schools couldn't even get into their driveways. A few people at church couldn't leave their houses because they couldn't get their cars out.
I am ready for Spring!
