So I've been dealing with High blood pressure for a few months now. I think I've had it longer than that but just found out that it was a more than once or twice thing. I've been seeing a GP here and she is actually really good. She hasn't tried to force medicine on me and is willing to give me a chance to get it to go down on my own.
Our first test was to try and drop a stone. A stone is about 14 lbs. So far I've only lost 3.3 lbs so it's progress but not enough quite yet. I have one more month to get it done. I don't think I am going to make it. I was exercising daily and walking a lot but due to the weather I have been the slacker!
Christian was reading a blog or something somewhere and he read that taking Wheat/Gluten out of your diet can help lower your blood pressure. We said "why not" and that's what we've been doing for just over a week now.
I go in for another read on the 26th of this month so hopefully we will see a decrease by then.
It's been hard at times but it is something that can be done. A change here or there or you take something out and figure something else to eat.
IF this does work then I will completely dive into it and find out other things to make. I have found several blogs that people write who are GF and they give their recipes.
I made fried chicken last night and used our GF flour and it was actually pretty tasty. I've made lasagna and used the GF pasta for Christian and I and we thought it tasted pretty good.
He's also doing the "diet" for moral support for me. FIgure it can't hurt him right.
If anything I am hoping to loose some weight doing this.
