OK so for those that don't know...my DH works for the Oil & Gas Industry.
If you have seen the movie Armageddon with Ben Afflick and Bruce Willis that is what my DH does..he is not an actual Oil Rigger but he is the computer nerd that sits in a trailer and watches a computer screen that tells them how far they have drilled.
It's a cool job and all but it calls for him to be away from us 2 weeks at a time.
He's been doing this since March..the traveling part that is. The first 2 times he left I was a mess. I would cry for 2 days, etc.....then after a few months I got used to it.
THEN every time he would leave something drastic would happen around the house. Luckily these past 2 trips nothing has happened!! I was getting tired of asking our neighbor for help.
We usually communicate via his cell phone or we chat on MSN and we email quite a bit. It makes the 2 weeks go by really fast and I don't miss him as much. Well they have had issues with their internet service...they are in the Mountains in Canada and the service isn't the greatest there....so he's not had anything since he left this past Wednesday. He was able to call at least once a day but only for maybe 2 minutes.
I have not been following my diet at all...prob gained another pound and I was really sad yesterday. I don't really have friends anymore..sure I have friends but it's not the same when you are married and have kids..everyone is married and has kids around here...it's not like I can call someone and say come and hang out with me...it's just not like it was when I was newly married w/no kids.
So last night I sat here and cried and he finally was able to call. I was about ready to crawl into bed and cry myself to sleep and lo and behold he called. :) We talked for about 20 minutes and I did feel better.
This morning I woke up to a nice email and he has internet service finally!! The new service got there at almost 1 am last night and it was up and running in 20 minutes!!! So we got to chat on MSn for about 1 hr and then he had to go to bed. He works nights.
He's far away now but just wait until they send him to Scotland for training and then to Norway on a offshore rig....we'll see how things go then.
Ok thanks for reading!! If anyone has any "miss" him stories feel free to share!!!

Camille,
So glad to see you update! :) YAY! I really need to update my blog as well, but in the overall scheme of things, blogs just don't rank all that high - at least not WRITING in one! LOL!
Sounds like the kids are doing awesome! That has got to be so hard to have your DH away so much - I don't know what I would do - probably adapt to it, but man, that would be so tough!
There was something else that I was going to comment on but of course, now I forget what it was - so if I read through again, maybe it will come back to me.
Just glad to "see" you around again!
