Can be a little frustrating!!!!

So we've been here for over 4 weeks now. Time really does go by fast. It seems like yesterday we were boarding the plane to get over here...

The weekend we got here we went to the mall to buy all the things we couldn't bring over. Things like a blow dryer, tv, cell phone, etc.
When we went to O2 (a provider that sells I Phone's) they said we needed a UK debit card in order to have a pay monthly contract....well we don't have one.

We went to the bank that week and opened up an account at a bank that offers a service for Passport holders. Basically they are the ONLY bank here in the UK that will give a debit card to someone who is from another country, otherwise you have to establish residency and live here for up to 6 months I think Christian said. So he goes to open the account and we wait......no debit card in the mail like they said.  He calls and they say , oh it was sent to your US address....WHY???? They messed up big time! So they say they will cancel that one and re-issue one and it will be at the branch in 5 days....that was almost 10 business days ago. The main office somehow can't get anyone at our branch to answer the phone. We can't call the branch, only go there. It's downtown and the only branch in Aberdeen. So we call yet again yesterday and Christian tells them how awful their service is and tells them they need to resolve this and overnight us a card...
So they were supposed to call him by 11 this morning and I don't think he has heard from them yet.

And to top it off I just got a pkg of mail from Christian's mom and guess what was in the mail?? YES you got it, the original debit card they sent to the states!! Of course it's the one they cancelled so we STILL do not have a debit card and I still do not have a cell phone.

So that is frustrating here. They don't have very good customer service...and you do need a debit card for just about everything.  They do take our card but some places do not. Costco doesn't take our card so we have to add up everything we are going to purchase and then go take money out and pay cash. It's a bit of a pain. There are a few other places like that too.

Maybe one day we'll have a debit card here!!!
