Gemma

Since getting to Scotland we have all missed having animals in our home. It has been nice not having to worry about dog hair or staying out too long and letting him/her outside to take a wee, but we've missed having a dog.
Christian and I talked about how we could fix our issue and we finally came up with adopting a older dog that maybe we could outlive by our stay here.
We drove over to the dog shelter here and found a Stafforshire Bull Terrier . She's about 8 years old, black and the sweetest thing. Best thing is that her name is Gemma and that is a name I have grown to love while living here. I had told Emalee that her first girl had to be called Gemma but now she is off the hook since we now have a dog.
The kids were pretty surprised and quite happy when they found out. Jimmy has taken to her quite well and she is now sleeping in his bed every night. When it's time for him to go to bed he lets her outside to do her thing and she follows him to his bed and she's there until he wakes up in the morning. It's really the cutest thing. The other night Gemma was ready for bed before Jimmy and she followed me and the little kids up so she ended up getting in bed with Reagan. She thought that was quite cool.

Glad she is sweet because . . . well she is a little bit - shall we say - a sweet spirit!
