Paleo 30 Day Challenge

Challenge Accepted!  Well, I'm not sure if it was easily accepted, but after a week it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
We've been following the Paleo Lifestyle. Christian found this way of eating while we lived in Scotland. We follow this guy called Mark Sisson over at marksdailyapple.com.  Basically you eat like they did back in the caveman day.
Meats, Fruits, Veggies, Nuts & Seeds.  Sounds a little limited doesn't it?  It really isn't. Think about it, you can have ANY meat you want....there are a ton of possibilities....beef, fish (many types), chicken , pork, talk about BACON heaven! There's Elk , duck, bison, etc etc etc...you see my point.  There are a ton of veggies out there though you should stay away from the grain & legume type of veggies....no Corn or corn products.
LOTS of fruit out there too and nuts galore. Stay away from the Peanut :)
We eat really well and our kids are learning to eat healthy. They are learning to eat things without sugar in them, without high fructose corn syrup in it. Do we cheat and have things that have those things? Sure, who doesn't from time to time.  I buy them fruit snacks that are natural and have NO sugar, no colorings, etc and they like them. They have cheese for snacks or fruit.

So Chrisitan, Emalee and I have been doing the challenge since May 1st.  Since then I've lost about 4-5 lbs. No soda, no chips, no potatoes, no FAST food! That was a bit hard for me. I do love my fast food....but I know it's horrible for you and very Fattening!
It's May 16th so we only have 15 more days and then I think I'm going to stick to it as close as I can. I just feel better about myself not putting all that crap in my body.
Last time I was serious about the diet I lost 16 lbs. I'd like to do that again and KEEP it off!!!
Who really needs all that bad stuff anyway?
